The board of Australian-listed engineering contractor UGL could not agree on CIMIC Group’s cash offer of $A3.15 per share. A majority of four directors advised investors to accept the offer, while non-executive director Robert Kaye believes that the bid undervalues the company and should be rejected. Simon Mawhinney, the MD of investment fund Allan Gray, also believes that the offer is too low.
