Production at BHP Billiton’s Olympic Dam copper mine in South Australia was suspended for two weeks after the recent state-wide power outage. However, BHP has advised that the mine’s processing equipment is operating at full capacity and did not incur any damage due to the blackout. Meanwhile, Roy Hill Holdings CEO Barry Fitzgerald has indicated that iron ore shipments had topped 17 million tonnes by the end of October. Roy Hill expects to have shipped 25 million tonnes by the end of the year.
