The Seven and Ten networks and pay-TV group Fox Sports could potentially acquire the rights to international cricket matches played in Australia. The Nine Network paid $A450m in cash and contra for its current broadcasting rights deal, which expires in 2017-18, but it is believed to be unwilling to pay any more for a new deal. Sources say Nine is also more interested in the Big Bash League domestic Twenty20 tournament than international matches. Cricket Australia wants the anti-siphoning list to be relaxed for one-day internationals.
