At home the sectors close mostly positive, with IT and telcos leading the charge higher. Financials were the biggest drag on the market, not helped by NAB’s 2.7% slump.
The rest of the big four didn’t fare much better, with CBA (-0.4%), ANZ (-1.1%) and Westpac (-1.5%) all weakening. The mining majors continued their run higher on the back of stronger commodities. BHP advanced 1.3% and Rio Tinto added 0.7%.
The ASX 200 put on 12 points (+0.3%) to settle at 4571. For the week the index surged 1.9%.
