1. What is the purpose of this Financial Services Guide?
This Financial Services Guide (FSG) is an important document, which provides you with information about Australian Stock Report Pty Ltd (ACN 106 863 978) to help you decide whether to use the services We offer.
This FSG contains information on:
- who We are;
- how We can be contacted;
- the financial services offered by Australian Stock Report;
- how We, Our representatives and other parties involved in providing the financial services are remunerated and details of any potential conflicts of interest;
- Our internal and external disputes resolution procedures and how you can access them.
The information contained in this FSG is general information only and has been prepared without taking into account any particular persons needs or objectives. ASR provides no warranty regarding the suitability of any of the services described in this FSG for any person. ASR is required to provide you with this FSG and has authorised its distribution to you.
2. Who is Australian Stock Report Pty Ltd.
The Australian Stock Report is an Australian owned, boutique Financial Services company assisting clients in building knowledge and wealth through our Trading, Investing and Self-Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) Reports. We aim to achieve this goal through share market education and responsible investment strategies.
Australian Stock Report is licensed as an Australian Financial Services Licensee (pursuant to section 913B of the Corporations Act 2001), and holds an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL No. 301682) and is regulated by ASIC.

4. The services We offer
Australian Stock Report provides general financial product advice to retail and wholesale clients in relation to derivatives and securities, through a members’ only subscription service to the Australian Stock Report.
Australian Stock Report strives to deliver highest quality securities research including shares, options, derivatives, which may include overseas securities and indices. Australian Stock Report provides a range of research report services for clients to subscribe to any or all of Our reports.
Australian Stock Report offers general advice only about financial products (limited to derivatives and securities) without investigating or commenting on their suitability for you.
Australian Stock Report is not authorised to provide personal financial product advice which takes into account your objectives, financial situation and needs. Before acting on any information or general advice, you should consider the appropriateness of it and the relevant product in regard to your objectives, financial situation and needs. You should seek independent financial advice and read the relevant Product Disclosure Statement or other offer document prior to acquiring a financial product.

General advice may differ from what you might commonly understand or expect.

Rather, it should be regarded as general information for your consideration prior to making any decision to deal in any product.
4.2. What is personal advice?
Personal advice is advice that takes into account any of your personal financial circumstances, objectives and needs. Australian Stock Report will not give you personal advice. Should you require personal advice please contact your financial advisers.
5. Our Research Process
As mentioned previously the Australian Stock Report provides financial market research services to subscribers using predominantly technical analysis software or other like tools and fundamental analysis.
Our research analysts are well trained, highly experienced and dedicated to providing the highest quality research incorporating the latest up-to-date information to ensure accurate information at the time of publication.
Technical Analysis (also known as “charting”) examines the trading history (i.e. price and volume) of a particular security by overlaying various programmed statistical tools that together give likely indications of future movements in the market for that security. This analysis aims to identify future market behaviour, based on on-going refinement of historical analysis, which has been and is likely to be a precursor to a significant positive or negative move in the price for that security. Please note that past performance is not a guarantee of future performance.
The analysis is only as current as the market data analysed, so if the analysis of the day’s market trading is done that night, consideration must be given to overnight domestic and international developments when considering the trading opportunities for the next day.
Technical Analysis tools and research give no consideration to the activities and commercial environment of the issuer of the security, focusing solely on the behaviour of buyers and sellers in the market for that security across various time horizons. That said, the market and commercial environment can not be disregarded.
Fundamental Analysis of securities is based on the current and future financial standing of the company or other entity which issued the security, and how that financial standing is expected to impact the “benefits” of owning that security (e.g. level of dividend, the prospects for capital gain in the security’s price, financial ratios etc).
6. How you may provide instructions to Us
Generally you may give Us instructions either by telephone or in writing (mail and e-mail) in relation to any of Our services and transactions for execution. Please note that All of ASR’s telephone communications are recorded for quality and coaching purposes. Please inform the ASR consultant if you do not wish to have your phone conversation recorded. However, We reserve the right to request written instructions from you relating to the subject matter of your instructions where necessary and where subject to the terms and conditions of any applicable agreement with you. 7. Who is my Australian Stock Report Representative?
Your Australian Stock Report Representative is a representative of Australian Stock Report. He or she is responsible for research and development of the Australian Stock Reports. Our representatives are experienced and qualified to provide the general financial product advice contained in Our Reports.
7.1. Who is responsible for the advice given to me?
When you speak with Us, you are dealing with one of Australian Stock Report’s employees. Australian Stock Report is therefore responsible to you for any general financial product advice given to you by Our employees.
7.2. What is Australian Stock Report’s position when providing its advice on securities & derivatives to you?
Australian Stock Report employees may, from time-to-time, have an interest in the securities or derivatives discussed in its Reports. Australian Stock Report recognises that this may create a conflict of interest and to manage this conflict all employees are subject to strict controls on their trading prior to and after the issue of the Australian Stock Report. Where a director or shareholder of ASR has a significant holding that relates to a financial product that ASR provides you with general advice on ASR will disclose the significant holding to you.
8. Remuneration for the financial services We provide
8.1. How will I pay for the financial services?
Subscription fees apply to all Australian Stock Report products and services. Fees are annual subscription fees.
8.2. How are Our representatives remunerated?
Australian Stock Report employees receive a salary for their services and in addition, they may receive bonuses and other benefits from Us. The amount of any bonus or other benefit which employees may be entitled to will depend on various factors such as the performance of that person during the year and achievement of pre-determined overall business objectives.
9. Do We receive commissions?
9.1. Introduction fees, commissions or other payments
The Australian Stock Report may receive payments including, but not limited to, other introductions and/or commissions for such services as online brokerage, financial and insurance products, managed funds and/or initial public offerings.
With your permission you may be referred to an external specialist to receive further advice. We may receive a referral fee or commission for introducing you to the specialist. ASR nor ASR employees and representatives are liable nor endorse products or services provided by external providers.
The amount of the referral fee is calculated depending on the type of service that is referred, and is generally a percentage of the value of the services referred during a set period of time. You can request particulars of the amount within a reasonable time after the FSG is given and before any financial services are provided to you.
9.2. Payments to other professionals?
We may pay a referral fee when clients are referred to us from other professionals. The amount of the referral fee is calculated depending on the type of service that is referred, and is generally a percentage of the value of the services referred during a set period of time. You can request particulars of the amount within a reasonable time after the FSG is given and before any financial services are provided to you.
9.3. Do We have any relationships or associations with financial product providers?
We have commercial arrangements in place with various product providers to enable Us to execute transactions and provide financial services on your behalf. Any related fees and charges are described in this FSG, refer to 9.6.
9.4. Introduction Relationship with Saxo Capital Markets (Australia) Pty Limited
We have a referral and introduction relationship with Saxo Capital Markets (Australia) Pty Limited (Saxo) ABN 32 110 128 286 (AFSL 280372). Saxo is licensed to deal in derivatives. This introduction relationship means that we may introduce you to Saxo so that Saxo may provide dealing services to you for the acquisition of derivatives.
9.5. How will the introduction occur?
We will simply make the introduction to Saxo via our website, email campaign or through written or verbal communication. The decision to acquire any products, which may be provided by Saxo or whether you wish to use the services of, is solely your decision. We do not provide personal advice in respect of any dealings you may have with Saxo nor do we advise you personally or otherwise to accept the services of Saxo. ASR does not make warranties nor accepts any liability for any products, services or advice that youmay receive through Saxo.
9.6 Do we get paid a commission?
Yes. Should you decide to use the services of Saxo as a result of our introduction, then in accordance with the introduction relationship between us and Saxo we may be paid a commission by Saxo based upon the introduction.
9.7. How is the commission payable?
The commission payable to us by Saxo is dependent upon the number of clients we introduce to Saxo and whether those clients agree to use Saxo’s services and place trades with Saxo for the acquisition of derivatives.
The commission is then calculated as a percentage of total full commission trades which the clients place with Saxo. Dependent upon the number of clients introduced and the number of full commission trades that the clients undertake with Saxo, we may receive anywhere between 25% to 50% of the full trade commissions which Saxo receives from the introduced clients.
10. Is there anything else I should read before I subscribe for the Australian Stock Report?
Privacy laws apply to the handling of personal information. The privacy of your personal information is important to Us. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring confidentiality and security of all personal information.
12. What can you do if you have a complaint?
If you have a complaint about the financial service provided to you, please take the following steps:

When your complaint is received it will be entered onto Our complaints register. Australian Stock Report will respond to you accordingly. If the Australian Stock Report representative does not resolve the complaint to your satisfaction, you may refer the matter pursuant to the ASR Dispute Resolution Policy, a copy of which is available on our website at www.australianstockreport.com.au
2. If Australian Stock Report does not resolve your complaint internally to your satisfaction within 45 business days of receipt of your complaint by ASR, you may lodge a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), which is an independent disputes resolution scheme of which Australian Stock Report is a member. You lodge a complaint with FOS by sending the necessary documents and information to:

Before FOS deals with your complaint you must have first lodged a formal complaint with Australian Stock Report in addition to giving each party adequate and reasonable time to resolve the complaint internally. This generally takes 45 business days, although we may extend this time to 90 days.
You and We agree to accept the determination of FOS or the arbitrator (as applicable), as final and binding and submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts in Victoria for the enforcement of any such determination.
Professional Indemnity Insurance
Professional indemnity insurance is maintained by Australian Stock Report Pty Ltd to cover general advice and actions, which have been authorised by ASR and provided to you by an ASR representative. The professional indemnity insurance satisfies the requirements imposed by the Corporations Act 2001 and financial services regulations.
